The news comes after LCA, the Detroit Sports Commission and state universities submitted bids last summer to host postseason events in either 2019, 2020, 2021 or 2022. The NCAA also announced that LCA will host first- and second-round games of the 2021 Division I men's basketball tournament and the 2022 Division I wrestling championships. Little Caesars Arena, which will open in September as the home of the Red Wings and Pistons, will host the 2020 Division I men's hockey Frozen Four, the NCAA announced on its web site today.
